My Favourite Read of 2019

Hello! Hello! Hello!

This was a super hard list to make. I read so many amazing books this year but I was able to narrow it down to the following 10 books. Oddly enough, my top picks are all 2019 releases and a lot of them are debut authors. Ok, let’s get down to business, these are in no particular order :

2019 was such an outstanding year for debuts. I read so many amazing that it was hard to even pick my favourites but these were just the ones that stood out to me. Also, these are all Queer books which makes it even better.

Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan
The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling

You didn’t think I would leave these out, did you?

Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff
Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
Dev1at3 by Jay Kristoff

I was so delighted by Jessica’s & Derek’s debut in 2018 that I couldn’t wait to read their second book. And boy, was I not disappointed. These two have made my auto-buy list for sure.

Swipe Right for Murder by Derek Milman
When Summer Ends by Jessica Pennington

Let’s chat!

What were your top reads of 2019? Do you have any of these on your list? Leave me a comment.

  1. I loved Devouring Gray too and Deviate almost made it onto my best list but got bumped to my Honorable Mentions. Still amazing though.

    1. I try to read as many as possible. I’m also think of doing the Queer book challenge this year. Not sure if that’s the official name for it though.
